Ever since I watched the 1983 movie The Right Stuff (L'Etoffe des héros) I was a fan, particularly of Capt. Charles Elwood “Chuck” Yeager, the first man to break the sound barrier in the X-1 "Glamorous Glennis" on 14 October 1947. Chuck Yeager lived in Grass Galley since 1975 and part of Smartsville Road going to Beale Air Force Base was renamed in his honor in 2010. I live in Grass Valley since 2009, and I always wanted to ride this road because I am a Chuck Yeager fan but also because it is a beautiful rolling road recently repaved.
So here is the ride, connecting gravel roads to get to Chuck Yeager road and then riding on Chuck Yeager road to the gate to the Spenceville Wildlife Area. I hope that you enjoy it too!
