Description

Shielbrae Climb - North to South

This is one of my favourite climbs when I want to test myself.  It's only about 6kms in length but you are climbing all the way with some 10%+ inclines at points. The scenery is gorgeous and the road is usually very quiet, in fact, it's rare that I meet anyone at all over the whole road (although I did on this occasion!) On this ride, I stopped at the highest point and turned back as the road was still icy however normally I would continue on and cover the remaining climbs to then enjoy the fast downhill sections. If you do the video with the sound on the birdsong on this particular day is amazing.

This video stops almost at the same spot but is tackled from the other direction - South. to North
