Beschrijving

The Delta del Po / River Po Delta is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve located at the junction where Italy's longest river meets the Adriatic Sea. The cycle ride starts at Porto Levante, where there are places to park a car. Beware though, that it soon gets very busy here on sunny summer days.

The route is flat and can be used online as a great recovery or practice ride. Initially, we travel along the Via delle Valli (BI-2 Ciclovia del Po) cycle path, a narrow asphalt road used for sightseeing, that is perfect for cycling and affords wonderful views across the Po Delta. Many sorts of birds can be found here, even Flamingos! The video does catch a glimpse of some in the far distance, albeit hard to spot.

Just after half-way, we join the dedicated Eurovelo 8 cycle path (part 6C Italia) and travel directly along the River Po cycle path 'Via Golena di Sant' Antonio'. Slightly elevated, this path offers wonderful views across the River Po and surrounding countryside. Eventually this wonderful ride comes to an end at Porto Viro.
