Visit historic locations in Leoben, a picturesque Austrian town. We start by the river and along the town promenade, pass the town hall and turn towards the gate tower - Schwammerlturm (1615). A narrow passageway brings us to the town park (where once a Glacis fortification was). A few more steps and we are at the place where a historic Treaty of Leoben has been signed with Napoleon Bonaparte on 1797-04-18. After a busy street crossing we continue uphill, towards the forest. From the remains of the castle Maßenburg (13th century) a panoramic view can be enjoyed.
