The nature reserve of the Muzzano lake represents a precious corner of nature on the outskirts of the city of Lugano, inserted in a highly urbanized and constantly changing territorial context. Precisely for this reason, its conservation is fundamental, both in order to preserve a vital space for countless animal and plant species, often threatened and rare, and because it constitutes a recreational area much appreciated by the population, who here rediscover contact with nature.
The lake is a rare example of a small glacial lake in the hills; its shores, which are unspoiled, are still of outstanding value.
