Mt Rose Summit is the highest year-round mountain pass in the Sierras at 8,911 feet (2670 m), offering views & ski access. The Lake Tahoe Scenic Overlook with beautiful views of the lake is about 40 mins into the climb (if you are in Discovery mode).
