Falkirk to Culross

Once I have crossed the Kincardine Bridge there is really only one road to Culross. Except on this day, I managed to find an alternative path for part of the way along a gravel path that runs alongside the River Forth.  Unfortunately, I took a small wrong turn and ended up in a farmyard. See if you can spot the route that I should have taken at 13.4kms (33m 19s)?! 

My initial plan was to take the canal towpath from my home, down towards the Kelpies and then through Skinflats to the Kincardine Bridge.  Unfortunately, there was a fire in a scrapyard at one of the industrial estates beside the canal and the fire brigade had commandeered the towpath to get water to douse the fire which meant I had to take a small detour.

Hope you enjoy this route despite these small detours?  It's all on the flat and finishes in beautiful Culross with a small incline over an ancient cobblestone street that I had to take very slowly on my road bike.
