The castle route is a route along and through domains through polders and forests, south of Bruges. The castles and fortresses are sometimes a bit hidden, or you have to deviate a bit from the route. In the immediate vicinity of the route are dozens of castles. The route starts at the Tillegem castle, indicated from the Torhoutsesteenweg (Tillegembos). The route is completely flat.
