Redwoods are so huge, a single tree itself can be habitat for an incredible number of species, including other plants and whole communities of worms, insects, salamanders and mammals. California's coast redwoods (Sequoia sempervirens) thrive on the North Coast of California; the only place in the world that provides the environment they need to grow.
