In this section of our virtual kayaking adventure, we explore both the inside and outside of Tromlingene, experiencing the contrast between the calm inner channels and the exposed outer coastline. Raet National Park covers over 600 square kilometers of marine and coastal landscapes, formed as glaciers retreated after the last Ice Age. This stretch of the Skagerrak coastline has a long history of shipwrecks due to strong currents, unpredictable winds, and hidden underwater reefs. Fishermen and traders have navigated these waters for centuries, often facing harsh and unforgiving conditions. Today, the area is a protected habitat for seabirds, marine life, and coastal vegetation, making it an exceptional location for paddling and exploration.
