Camelon to Allandale

The plan was for this to be a much longer video but unfortunately, I had to stop to fix a puncture which turned out to be three separate punctures and I didn't have enough patches with me to fix them all. I had to stop the ride at about 10kms and walk home. 😢 You can see the source of the punctures in the video just after 9kms where there was a farmer cutting the roadside hedges resulting in the road being strewn with thorns. This route is very popular with Sunday cyclists and I saw on Strava that I wasn't the only one affected that day!

The ride takes you initially through the Falkirk suburb of Tamfourhill, past then the entrance to the world-famous Falkirk Wheel before crossing over the main Edinburgh to Glasgow railway line and finally into the countryside. There are then some slow gentle inclines before the final fast downhill stretch into Allandale. Whilst it was a lovely sunny day it was filmed just after some heavy rain so the roads are still wet in some places. Watch out for the deer too! 😊
