Morning walk on the seafront of Giardini, the first Greek colony in Sicily. Then go up to the pedestrian center of Taormina. This winds along Corso Umberto - today a pedestrian street dedicated to walking and shopping, but until the nineteenth century, a connecting road that passed inside the walls and offered the possibility of passing from the south to the north, to go towards Messina. The stretch appears closed by two side doors, Porta Catania and Porta Messina. As I passed, the shopkeepers were opening their businesses.
From above, you can admire the Isola Bella of Taormina, a splendid location connected to the mainland by a thin strip of sand, overlooking the emerald waters of the Ionian Sea.
