Descrizione

The itinerary starts at the intermediate station of Bellavista at 1200 meters above sea level, which can also be reached by the rack train departing from Capolago.The comfortable and wide path quickly enters the woods: the first section is quite steep. The slopes are however moderate along the entire route. It meets the railway at several points.Arriving at the Monte Generoso station, at almost 1700 meters above sea level, you find yourself in front of the "Fiore di pietra" (Stone flower): the symbolic structure of Monte Generoso which bears the signature of the Ticino architect Mario Botta.The view sweeps over the gulf of Lugano, the Alpine chain, Monte Rosa, Matterhorn, Jungfrau and the Gotthard massif.
