The River Dinkel is a small, picturesque river that flows through parts of Germany and the Netherlands, particularly through the region of Twente in the Dutch province of Overijssel and parts of Lower Saxony in Germany. At the end of the ride, you might encounter on the right side of the river a small historical structure called a “Schuivenhuisje” (also known in some dialects as a sluisje or kleine waterregelhuisje), a traditional water control house, so called a "Schuivenhuisje". Their primary function was to manage the water level of the river.
