Bike 53 km. Summer. Italy - Tuscany. Saline di Volterra - Montecatini Val di Cecina - Micciano 2 hr 5 mins. Sunny Large counterclockwise bike workout on the hills and through the valleys of Tuscany, Italy, in the southern part of the Province of Pisa, near Volterra. Starting at the crossing of the Trossa river beyond the borgo Micciano. Climbing the hills west of Pomarance, then turning north. Steep downhill to the Cecina bridge, then on to the city of Saline di Volterra. In Saline further north/east, climbing to Montecatini Val di Cecina 395m. From thereon some steep descends, heading south, to the village of Ponteginori (54 m,) on the main road from Volterra to Cecina. Crossing the confluence of the Cecina and Trossa rivers, biking partly along the Trossa. Then a last climb to the borgo Micciano at 424 m.. Finally a steep descend with lots of hairpins back to the starting point at 108 m. Mainly sun, some clouds when biking to Montecatini, from thereon blue skies again. Hills, valleys, fields, forests in Tuscany in summertime. With markers every (few) kilometer(s) (and some information on the surroundings). Footage July 2022
