Slamannan To Falkirk
The small village of Slamannan lies just South of Falkirk and this ride from Slamannan to Falkirk is largely on the flat with a fast downhill section towards the end. The area to the South of Falkirk is largely flat and desolate with vast areas given over to peat farming which gives rise to flat treeless fields. The ride follows the main road between Slamannan and Falkirk but is not too busy with other traffic. The day of the ride featured very strong Westerly winds which accounts for the speedy progress when heading East and the very slow progress when heading West.
