Carron Valley

One of my favourite local areas for cycling is the Carron Valley. For me, it has everything I'm looking for: quiet country roads, gorgeous scenery, solitude, lots of wildlife and a mix of flat and hilly roads. It's also just a few kilometres away from where I live so I can get there quickly (less than 30 minutes by bike). This ride starts part way up the westerly road missing most of the inclines required to get there. From there it's mostly level or at least without any strenuous climbs. This particular day it was a beautifully sunny one with very few clouds in the sky but not too warm which is always a bonus. Enjoy.
