We are on the E6 European long distance path, which starts in Kilpisjärvi, Finland and ends in Alexandroupoli, Greece. Here in Austria it is a sunny springtime day and a lonely unpaved pine forest road brings us from vista to vista...
"Schmollhube" - a mountain hut (altitude: ~1100m) closed during the cold season - is reachable from Leoben (altitude: ~550m) in some three hours, either as a final destination, or as a stop before continuing to the top of the nearby mountain Mugel (altitude: ~1630m).
In this walk we are "cruising" at a high altitude. Still, there are some 100 uphill meters to master. Our final destination are pastures around the mountain saddle "Gstattmoaralm", where it is provided for a plenty of cold beer. Enjoy!
