Beschreibung

This section of the Amstel Gold Race is only the Climb Vaalserberg to the highest point of the Netherlands which is Drielandenpunt. At the top i stop by the "Monument where the 3 Countrys meet" Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. The Bounderymarker in the Middle is from The Netherlands, At the Left side is Germany and at the Right side is from Belgium. Thousands of people yearly from all over the world visit the Drielandenpunt which has 2 Lookout towers. The Wilhelmina tower on the Dutch side, which was made of Wood and build in 1905. This tower was badly damaged during the World War by German artillery fire and has been rebuild twice. Now the middle construction is stone and the Stairs are still Wood. And the Boudewijn Tower on the Belgium Side build in 1970 and completely demolished and rebuilt in 1993 as a new Lookout Tower with a total high of 50 Meters and a full Steel construction.
