This is the fourth segment of a multi-segment 50-mile eastbound ride of the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes from Harrison, ID to old mining town and self-proclaimed Center of the Universe, Wallace, ID.

This fourth segment of the ride continues along the Coeur d'Alene River leaves Idaho's chain-of-lakes region and enters the mining region, ending in the mining town of Kellogg. It also marks the beginning of a 20-mile slight uphill grade that ends in Wallace, Idaho.

The Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes is one of the crown jewels of US Rail Trails and is on the Rail Trail Hall of Fame. The full trail covers 73 paved miles through scenic mountains and valleys in Idaho's Panhandle.
