Ride on Quarry trail upstream along the Middle Fork American River. The trail connects with the Western States Trail and all trails in El Dorado County. Some beautiful views of the canyon and the river, with a quick look at Hawver Cave. Now closed to the public, Hawver Cave was a natural cave that ran under Mountain Quarries and used by the Pacific Portland Cement Company to deliver limestone ore from the quarry. The natural cave trapped animals from the Pleistocene era.
