I love cycling and would cycle every day of the week given the chance. I recognise the huge health benefits, both physical and mental, that cycling brings. My first choice every time would be to get outdoors in the fresh air and cycle but the weather here in central Scotland does not always facilitate this. I don't mind cycling in poor weather; rain doesn't stop me but temperatures below -1c or winds above 20mph will see me seeking an indoor cycle.

I love the opportunity that Kinomap gives to cycle parts of the world that I might not get the chance to visit.  I've linked my indoor cycle, a JTX Fitness Cyclo 5S, to Kinomap and use it with a Samsung Galaxy tablet.

When I cycle with Kinomap I choose my ride based on location, then difficulty, then length. Of course, a video shot in bright sunshine also helps given what's going on outside my window!

I started filming my rides for safety reasons after a number of near-misses with motor vehicles but i'm now hooked on uploading these to Kinomap to show off the fantastic cycle paths and scenery we have here in central Scotland just a few miles from my home. If you were to follow me on Strava you'll likely see a ride that will appear as a video on Kiniomap a few days later.  I use a GoPro Hero 9 Black action camera which has fantastic image stabilisation mounted to my road bike handlebars. I track rides using a Garmin Edge 530 and my road bike is a 2021 Scott Addict. I'm in my mid-60s so don't expect the fastest of rides but enjoy your workout and the scenery.

If you do one of my rides I'd love some feedback. Thank you. ❤

I recently spent a week on the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland and I managed to get out cycling on two days of the seven days. The weather was not great - whilst the rest of the UK was basking in blue skies with temperatures in the mid to high twenties, Harris was grey and cloudy and just 13c. I was meant to video a circular route of the whole island however I suffered a corruption of the memory card in my GoPro camera and ended up having to split the video into three. The gaps between the videos are actually small but they would have been noticeable. These three videos cover that route in sequence.
