Description
Starting in the Toulousan agglomeration town of Grisolles, this ride follows the 19th c. Canal Latéral de la Garonne, this ride follows the canal to the northwest until you reach the town of Montech. Here a series of five locks enables smaller boats to gain height in the canal. In 1974 the water slope (peinte d’eau) was opened to enable larger boats to traverse the canal here. Two railway locomotives push them up a slope. A marvelous piece of engineering.
