Polmont to Falkirk
The shortest route from Polmont to Falkirk is to follow the towpath along the Union Canal. However on this day because that was particularly busy with walkers I chose to take the main roads through Brightons and Redding. There is an initial gentle climb to get to Brightons then it is more or less downhill all the way into Falkirk.
