Callander to Killin
This video may be long but, in my view, it has almost everything you might wish for in a training video. Firstly, it was filmed on a beautiful sunny day. Secondly, the tracks vary from wide tarmac roads, thru gravel roads, to narrow MTB tracks. Thirdly, they vary from flat to slightly hilly before climbing steeply and then a short downhill to the finish. Lastly, they pass some of the most gorgeous scenery in Scotland. The route follows the longer Sustrans National Cycle Route 7. There is more information on this here.
The ride starts in the lovely town of Callander with some reasonably flat roads through some woods before climbing quite steeply up through Glen Ogle before dropping down into the town of Killin, finishing beside the Falls of Dochart.
If 40km is too long You can do the whole route by riding some or all of the following nine separate routes:
