Santiago del Teide is a municipality in the southwest of the island that extends from the coast of Puerto Santiago to the pine forests of Mount Teide, about a thousand meters higher. This ride departs from the elevated center of the municipality, crosses the Puerto de Erjos (1170 m) on the border between north and south Tenerife and then returns to the starting point.
