Description

In 1736 the last volcano erupted in Lanzarote and the site is now the Timanfaya national park.  We start to cross the lava field from Yaiza in the East.  It is a steady climb for the first 5km.  Watch out for the statues of El Diablo by César Manrique which is the symbol for the park.  Also watch out for the camels as we near the top of the climb.  On the long descent into Mancha Blanca there are good views of the coast.
