Riding east from Cheviot you quickly arrive at Gore Bay which is regarded as one of the South Island Beauty spots, Then a short steep climb takes you past the Cathedral Cliffs (you can not see these from the road but check out the places for this ride). Then it is a pleasant ride past open rolling farmland crossing over the swing bridge across the Hurunui river then back down to Nape Nape a renowned surf casting beach.
