Katy Trail, St Charles, MO 63304, USA
Katy Trail, Weldon Spring, MO 63304, USA
This is a ride eastbound across prairie, farmland and woodlands on the Katy Rail Trail in the State of Missouri.
This segment starts at the Weldon Spring trailhead and ends where the Missouri Parks Department closed the trail for heavy maintenance (felling large trees across the trail!).
There was no way around the trail maintenence on this day, so I was unable to complete the remaining few miles to St. Charles, so this segment marks the end of my ride of the Katy Trail.
The Katy Rail Trail is nearly 240 miles long and spans nearly the full width of Missouri. It is the longest continuous rail-trail in the United States, is in the Rail-Trail Hall of Fame, and is designated a Millennium Legacy Trail.
