Gaishorn a. See 983, 8783 Gaishorn am See, Austria
Start by the lake and finish by the lake, riding half of the time near some waters. It is a paradise for birds, fish, beavers, etc. as well as for the local fishermen and swimmers.
"Gaishorner Badesee", as the full German name goes (actually there are two lakes), was naturally created in the 1768-1769, after a two huge mountain creek high waters, as the erosion sediments blocked the valley. In 1920 the barrier was cut through, in the hope of gaining an excellent agricultural land. However, it turned out that the soil was no good for any use. In the 1960s the idea was born to recreate the lake as a protection from high waters, which was completed in 1992. But still there are problems through a never ending accumulation of sediments in the lake...
Making of this video: The connection between my bike and gimbal broke while riding! Miraculously, the gimbal and cam survived the fall. So, I had to hold them in my left hand during this filming... Steering, changing gears and braking only with my right hand... Huh...!
There is also a walking video along the two lakes: "Gaishorn Lake 🚶"

More places will follow... By foot, by bike and by kayak. Stay tuned...
