The Julier Pass, called Passo del Giulia in Italian, reaches a height of 2284 meters above sea level and connects the Engadine with the central part of the canton of Grisons, and respectively the towns of Silvaplana and Bivio. An imposing red-colored wooden tower was inaugurated on the pass in 2017 and serves as a theater.
