Departure from the Faido Town Hall. The ascent is smooth but continuous, not even allowing for a moment's break. After almost an hour you reach the town of Carì, located at 1'640 meters above sea level. The altitude difference faced was 960 meters.
Carì is a village in the canton of Ticino in the Leventina valley. Since 1950 has developed into one of the most popular alpine tourist resorts of the canton. It is now inhabited all year round, making Carì the highest permanent settlement in the canton.
In winter Carì includes 20 km of ski pistes up to Lago di Carì (2'280 m).
