Alps to Ocean Trail.
This ride starts at Duntroon and follows dedicated cycle trails for most of the way to the Pacific Ocean. You mostly pass though farmland, at one stage there are amazing limestone cliffs and formations. About halfway you join an old railway track that takes you through a tunnel and down to the outskirts of Oamaru. Once you arrive at Oamaru you travel through the botanical gardens into the main city.
You then turn off into the older part of Oamaru and finally riding down the old wharf to the Pacific Ocean. Also check out https://virtualbrevet.com/challenges/a2o/ where you can upload your rides, see your progress on a graph and gain a completion award.
