Carron Reservoir to North Third Reservoir
This is one of my favourite rides when done from North to South. When ridden the other way around, as in this case, the initial climbs are not so severe but the downhill sections are much faster. Much of the downhill section has just been re-tarmacadamed making it a much smoother (and faster) ride. I love the scenery on this route and it is very rare that you ever meet anyone or anything or than wildlife on this road. It is so peaceful. When you reach the top of the hill, the views over the Forth valley are fantastic - all the way from the Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument in the West to the Forth bridges in East.
Whilst I did not see much wildlife, other than sheep, on this ride I quite often see Osprey, Buzzard and Deer.
