Mount Tambone is a mountain on the island of Elba. Located in the central part of the island, it reaches a height of 377 meters above sea level. The toponym, documented since 1840 as Ombrìa del Tambone, derives from the local term tompa, meaning "orographic depression." The area is home to the only goat farms in the central sector of the island, with two surviving stone huts and one completely destroyed. All are attributed to the San Piero shepherds of the Martorella family and were built starting in 1930.
