This middle section starts just beyond the city of Schmithoff. Through the Hürtgenwald forest heading north-east to the city of Zweifall. From thereon climbing to the highest point at 370 m through the Solchbachtal, the Zweifaller and the Rotter forest. Descending to 196,5 m., the lowest point, in the village of Schevenhütte.
