Description

This is the fifth segment of a multi-segment 70-mile westbound ride of the entire length of the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes from Mullan, Idaho to Plummer, Idaho.

This fifth segment of the ride is through Idaho's chain-of-lakes region beginning at the Bull Run Lake trailhead and ending near Swan Lake.

Shortly after leaving the Bull Run Lake trailhead, this ride traverses through what I refer to as the "Sasquatch Zone"

About the Sasquatch Zone: In the context of this video, the Sasquatch Zone refers to a general area where unexpected and unexplained events occur. Specifically, it is in this area where on both the eastbound ride from Harrison to Wallace and on this westbound ride, my camera unexpectedly and inexplicably turned itself off, requiring me to manually restart it. This occurred several times on both of these rides, and only in this area - not anywhere else on the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes.

By the way, Idaho does have it's share of Sasquatch sightings, many in the areas traversed by the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes!

The Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes is one of the crown jewels of US Rail Trails and is on the Rail Trail Hall of Fame. The full trail covers 72 paved miles through scenic mountains and valleys in Idaho's Panhandle.
