We start in the old Hanseatic city of Kampen, which once also had the most universities in the Netherlands. We follow the river IJssel, the northern most branch of the Rhine river and head east. After a few hundred meters there are traffic lights. The bridge across the river is located on the left hand side.
We continue along the river, past the village of Zalk. A few kilometers east, we pass under the A28 highway bridge and pass along the old road bridge. Just before the town of Hattem, we take the new red railway bridge across the river and head into Zwolle. We pass the railway shunting yard and the University of Applied sciences before heading to the north of the city, where the ride ends.
