The Swiss National Park is a strictly protected wilderness where animals and plants evolve freely and natural processes can develop their effect. Founded in 1914, it is the oldest National Park in the Alps. Together with the regional nature park Biosphere Val Müstair, the National Park forms a UNESCO biosphere reserve.
