🦁👑 Lion Trail 1b/100: Dolany –⁠⁠ Sendrazice | Central Bohemia

Project intro, roadmap & contest rules below. Part 1b/100: After leaving the UNESCO-listed medieval royal town of Kutna Hora behind us in Part 1a we start heading towards the neighbouring royal town of Kolin with its history going back to 13th century as well, sitting on the river Labe/Elbe. The river defines this one and the following couple of sections – easy profiles, sandy tracks when off the roads, and various crop fields and orchards everywhere.

The Lion Trail  is an epic, nearly 2000 km long cycling itinerary in mixed terrain packed with diverse natural, historical & cultural landmarks and sights in the Czech Republic. It is divided into 100 sections of various difficulty levels; joined together they form the Bohemian lion—the state emblem—on a map. Majority of the trail weaves through Central Bohemia, with Prague in the role of the lion's heart, but it also visits East, North, West and South Bohemia as well.

Originally a part of a campaign of ŠKODA Auto launched in 2018 to celebrate 100 years since the former Czechoslovakia has been established, now getting an endless virtual life on Kinomap.
