In Part 2 of our virtual running tour in Froland, we continue our journey through Osedalen, a charming area known for its mix of historic roots and modern life. While running through Osedalen, you’re passing through an area that has historically been a hub of small-scale industry and commerce. This part of Froland developed around the Arendal–Treungen railway, which played a crucial role in transporting goods and people between local businesses and the surrounding towns.

In the past, Osedalen had industries such as:

✅ Sawmills & Timber Processing – The forests around Froland provided ample timber, supporting sawmills that helped shape the local economy.

✅ Metal Workshops & Small Factories – Various small-scale industries operated here, taking advantage of railway transport to ship products.

✅ Trade & Commerce Hub – With the railway station nearby, Osedalen grew into a key commercial center for Froland, where goods were exchanged and transported.
