Description

Ride part of the "Buckeye Loop", on old unpaved logging roads in the Gold Country. Start on Banner Quaker Hill road to Lower Greenhorn road to Buckeye Ridge, then down Buckeye road to Greenhorn Creek. You will ride over the "7 Hills" and will experience some steep and rough sections on Buckeye road.

In the event you were wondering, the gravel near the creek crossing are made of hydraulic mine tailings (gold mining) washed down from the upstream Placer Diggings from the latter half of the 19th century in Nevada County. Other exemples of gold mines in the area are Quaker Hill Gold MineGreenhorn Creek Gold Mine, or Buckeye Diggings.
