Join me on this easy flat early spring walk by the lake - actually two lakes - which are a paradise for birds, fish, beavers, etc. as well as for the local fishermen and swimmers. You will see many proofs of beaver population during the walk. Be also prepared for a short ride on a ferry. 😊
"Gaishorner Badesee", as the full German name goes, was naturally created in the 1768-1769, after a two huge mountain creek high waters, as the erosion sediments blocked the valley. In 1920 the barrier was cut through, in the hope of gaining an excellent agricultural land. However, it turned out that the soil was no good for any use. In the 1960s the idea was born to recreate the lake as a protection from high waters, which was completed in 1992. But still there are problems through a never ending accumulation of sediments in the lake...
There is also a bike video of this lake: "Gaishorn Lake 🚴"

More places will follow... By foot, by bike and by kayak. Stay tuned...
