Starting from Villach, we initially travel along the beautiful river Drau sharing the route with the R1: Drauradweg (River Drau Cycle Path). As we leave the outskirts of Villach, the Alpe Adria route then joins with the picturesque R3: Gailtal Radweg (River Gail Cycle Path). This section is extremely pretty and offers plenty of rest points to take a break or dip your feet in the river. At Erlendorf we leave the river behind and then travel to the town of Arnoldstein on the R3C: Tarvis Radweg. You'll be able to spot the stunning Benediktinerkloster (Benedictine Monastery) as you approach.
