Description

On a sunny winter day in February 2023 I have made it to the first castle. At that time, under those conditions, to try to enter it would lead to a certain death. So, I knew that "I'll be back!" ๐Ÿ˜ So, on a sunny day in October 2023 I was back, determined to enter the castle

But even under these optimal conditions, you will hear my warning at the beginning of this video: "OK people, it is a beautiful day. But this part is not for the fainthearted. Free hands... maximal concentration. You can still turn back." Nevertheless, let's go!

So, this is the second episode on the "Knight's Climb" ("Rittersteig" in German) - a mostly forest track connecting the two Austrian villages: Kammern im Liesingtal and Mautern. Actually, it is a concealed forest path, high above the river valley, connecting two mountain castle ruins - "Burgruine Kammerstein" (12th century; altitude: ~995m) and "Burg Ehrenfels" (13th century; altitude: ~1150m). [Recorded on 2023-10-14]

More of my videos: Playlist about the Leoben region (central Austria, EU).

In 2023 I visited many very special places - by foot, by bike and by kayak. Look at my archive...
